The successful candidate will be responsible for researching and setting up content for our conferences. They must be commercially oriented, therefore able to identify conference topics that will attract paying delegates and sponsors.

The role involves:

  • Develop ICT-focused conference programs that are up-to-date, relevant and engaging for our target market of senior ICT executives and decision makers.
  • Conduct extensive research to identify key industry issues, topics and themes.
  • Analyze research results and use critical thinking to develop commercially successful B2B programs.
  • Identify, invite and confirm speakers.
  • Write all promotional texts for event web portals and mailings.
  • Conduct ongoing research in assigned areas to develop new conference ideas and stay abreast of industry trends and developments.
  • Build and maintain relationships with industry leaders, subject matter experts and senior executives.
  • Work with and support the Events team to ensure successful conference marketing and sponsorship.
  • Attend conferences to ensure excellent delivery and a smooth flow of the day.

Terms

Excellent research and writing skills are essential. The successful candidate must have a thirst for learning and research – but not just on Google! They need to be able to pick up the phone or walk into a face-to-face meeting and extract the crucial information the conference agenda needs.

  • Related business experience and excellent track record in producing major B2B business conferences
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong networking and relationship building skills
  • Excellent telephone and face-to-face interviewing skills

  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines
  • Business research/writing experience and/or journalism experience an asset.
